Introduction

If you’ve Donald Glover, or Childish Gambino, in your Google Play Music collection, you may have noticed something curious: there’s no album artwork. In fact, many albums and songs are missing album artwork entirely on Google Play Music. That can make for some ugly listening experiences, especially if you’re partial to a certain color or theme in your devices’ interface.

Step 1: Search for the Album

If you’re a music lover, you probably have a sizable collection of albums that you’ve amassed over the years. Even if you’re relatively new to the music scene, you probably have at least a few dozen albums that you listen to on a regular basis. But what if you want to add album artwork to your collection?

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to do this with Google Play Music. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get album artwork on Google Play Music:

Step 1: Search for the Album
The first step is to search for the album that you want to add artwork for. You can do this by opening up the Google Play Music app and tapping on the search icon (magnifying glass).

In the search bar, type in the name of the album that you’re looking for. For example, if you’re trying to find artwork for Drake’s album “Take Care”, you would type in “Drake Take Care”.

Step 2: Tap on the Album
Once you’ve found the album that you’re looking for, tap on it to open up its listing page.

Step 3: Scroll Down and Tap on “Add Art”
On the listing page, scroll down until you see the option to “add art”. Tap on this option.

Step 4: Select an Image
You will now be able to select an image from your gallery or take a new photo using your camera. Select an image that you want to use as album artwork and tap on the “done” button.

Step 5: Review Your Changes After completing these steps, review your changes by going back to the listing page for the album. You should see that there is now album artwork associated with it.

Step 2: Select the Album

In order to add album artwork to your music, you’ll need to make sure that the album is selected. To do this, open up Google Play Music and navigate to the “Albums” section. Then, simply click on the album that you want to add artwork for.

Step 3: Copy the Album URL

When you find the album you’re looking for, open the album page. To get to the album page, click on the album title. On the album page, look for the “Share” button. The “Share” button looks like a paper airplane. Click on the “Share” button, and then click on the “Copy link” option.

Assuming you have both the artist and album title, the easiest way to search for album artwork is to paste the URL of the album into Google Play Music’s search bar. Here’s how:

1. Find the URL of the album on Google Play Music. The easiest way to do this is to find the album on your computer, then right-click (or Control + click) on the album artwork.
2. Copy the link address.
3. Paste the link address into Google Play Music’s search bar.
4. Press Enter/Return.

Step 5: Select the Album Artwork

The next step is to select the Album Artwork from the search results. To do this, simply click on the image of the Album Artwork that you want to add to your album. This will open up a larger version of the image.

Step 6: Copy the Album Artwork URL

The album artwork URL is located in the source code of the Google Play Music web page. To find it, open the web page for the album in your browser. Right-click on the page and select “View Page Source.”

A new tab will open with the page’s source code. Search for “id-no-author” using your browser’s find tool (Ctrl+F on Windows, Command+F on Mac).

You should see something like this:

The URL for the album artwork is located inside the img src attribute. In this example, the URL is https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/hibiKP5e30_5NPgGIqlQQGENT7VUdv6uX7JA0CYwb0=w300.

If you right-click on the album artwork in iTunes and choose “Copy Image,” you can then paste that URL into the Google Play Music search bar.

Step 8: Download the Album Artwork

If you already have album artwork for your music, you can use Google Play’s “Download Album Art” feature to grab it and add it to your music files. If you don’t have album artwork, you can still use this feature to search for and find artwork that others have uploaded.

To get started, make sure that you have the latest version of Google Play Music installed on your device. Then, open the app and go to the “Settings” menu. Under the “Downloads” section, tap on the “Album Artwork” option.

From here, you can choose to either search for album artwork or download album artwork that is already available. If you choose to search, you will be able to specify what size and type of artwork you are looking for. Once you find some artwork that you like, simply tap on it to download it.
